Now that I've got private reminders to myself about things to do for CMA Samhain, I'd just like to leave a notice that I'm only slightly sunburned and a bit heat-stricken. It's not bad, no sympathy is needed. I just wish I had reigned in on my intoxication. I'd have been fine otherwise, but dealing with alcohol metabolism and heat together is a motherfucker. That will not be stopping me from making batches of pomegranate mead to take to the fall event however. And scumble for Camp Kallisti, who deserve the best that golden apples can give. ;)
[livejournal.com profile] xenoix_13 and I had a set of conversations in the car that will be the basis of much drama, but it'll all come right in the end. For group notice: If you wish to hit on me, please do not be nice to Xenoix only because you like me. If you like Xenoix for himself, please seek him out separately, as he finds it creepy and uncomfortable to think that the only reason someone pays him attention is out of deference to me.

Hail and welcome to any new additions to the friends-list, and feel free to bother me online at any time.

Just out of curiosity... Did [livejournal.com profile] xenoix_13 call me tonight, perhaps after some of that aforementioned intoxication?

Like I said, just curious. And if it is indeed the case, I apologize for hanging up on him.

Anyway, glad you guys are back! ^o^/

Unfortunately, that's one of the perils of being a couple. In over 20 years together, the King and I have never found an effective way of getting people to consider us as individuals and treat us as such. We're always ClueandKing to just about everyone. It takes some getting used to, I'm afraid.

Beyond not considering individuals in a couple as distinct entities, I would say that there is a definite school of thought that promotes general "niceness" & "civility" to anyone you expect to encounter with any frequency.

Heinlein's "social lubrication" quote is an example of such.

And how can anyone not like xenoix_13? He's so sweet...but you knew that.

I can see several reasons why this would make someone uncomfortable.
